Amber moose
Truckdriver Torben Toft Heidelbach from Korsør made a rare found when he took a walk along the coast with his wife and dog Sally, just before christmas. What he had found in the seaweed, proves to be one of the oldest and most rare pieces of art in Northern Europe. When they took a close look they saw that it was a beautiful crafted piece of amber. He went to the National Museum who immediately investigated the find. The Museum is convinced that it is a piece of amber crafted in the shape of a moose and that it is 13000-14000 years old. This found is especially interesting as it is in good condition. The museum already has a amber shaped moose in its collection, but that one misses the body, explains Peter Vang Petersen from the National Museum to Ritzau.
